Every change in season brings with it a list of to-do items which we can take care of for you.

Spring

• Check air conditioning & furnace
• Survey lighting & electrical service
• Check plumbing & other utilities
• Turn on exterior house faucets
• Start up sprinklers and check each zone
• Inspect roof for missing shingles and gaps
• Check outdoor paint for peeling, cracking and coverage
• Inspect attic for insulation and leak stains
• Inspect exterior trim, gutters & downspouts
• Clean and reattach gutters & downspouts
• Wash windows & exterior light fixtures
• Remove storm windows and install screens
• Move outdoor furniture out of storage & wash

 

Summer

• Change/clean a/c and furnace filters
• General exterior clean-up
• Tighten screws and nails on decks and patio
• Clean and seal decks and railings
• Seal cracks in concrete
• Inspect chimney cap and masonry
• Clean and adjust ceiling fans
• Survey exterior doors

Fall

• Seal, patch driveway
• Check, tighten and adjust fences, gates and doors
• Check all faucets, sinks and toilets for leaks
• Change indoor air filters
• Align & adjust all cabinet doors
• Check trim and woodwork for scratches, cracks or pulling away
• Check and install new batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
• Check fire extinguishers
• Clean dryer and exhaust vents
• Inspect weather stripping, thresholds, transitions and windows
• Wash windows
• Remove screens and install storm windows

Winter

• Drain outdoor faucets and winterize hoses and spigots
• Check all pipes to prevent freezing
• Set floor registers and grills to maximize airflow
• Tighten handrails and grab bars
• Check appliance cords, plugs and fixtures for damage or overload
• Test GFCI’s for functionality and safety
• Home safety check: trip hazards, loose carpet, loose steps, concrete, hanging wires, slippery surfaces, holes, splinters, etc…
• Run and check garbage disposal
• Tighten door handles, hinge screws and bathroom accessories
• Repair drywall dings and apply touch-up paint
